Animal Abuse

Animal rights are AWA's greatest concern.

Greek and European legislation regarding animal abuse is clear and in place.

The main problem in many cases is the absence of the will needed to implement the relevant legislation.

For animal organizations to be able to take action in cases where the laws on animal abuse have been violated, a report of the violation is necessary, as is a filed record of the report.

On this page you find an abuse report form in different languages.

If you witness an act of animal abuse, please feel free to input the details on the form and submit it to AWA.

AWA will then forward the completed form to the local authorities and to the regional and national authorities in Syros and Athens, respectively. Copies will also be submitted to the Minister of Culture and Tourism and to your country's ambassador in Greece.

AWA will keep you informed concerning the progress of your report.

It is compulsory for those filing reports to submit their personal information (including their full name, home address and e-mail address). They are also asked, if possible, to provide a telephone number or information on other ways they can be reached while in Greece, in the event that they need to be contacted to provide additional information related to their report.
